Jose and Aussy established Solon Perfecto Ceramics & Culture in 2020. It began as an expression of living an unhurried life that celebrates Filipino table culture and champions Filipino values. Now in its sixth year, the husband-and-wife artists continue to make art, tell stories, and create ceramics and culture from their home studio — while raising a family and trying to keep a 35-year-old Pajero running.

Meet the Perfectos
Solon Perfecto Ceramics & Culture is an art house established by Jose Solon Perfecto and Aussy Perfecto. It uses clay and words to create a language that tells stories of the Filipino artist in the Philippines and across the diaspora. Using media, they build a vocabulary of and about Philippine contemporary ceramics, taste, and culture.

Aussy has approached music, arts, events, and media as a writer, curator, producer, and entrepreneur for over 20 years. She was formerly online editor at Tatler Philippines (Style Media, Inc.) and managing editor at Smart Parenting (Summit Media) among other roles in public relations, business strategy, and marketing communications.
Her expertise in high-level consultation playfully manifests in her yoga classes, tarot reading sessions, and freelance work. She continues to write about art, food and wine, and artistic life in poetry, features, and creative non-fiction.

Jose Solon Perfecto
Artist and Creative Director
BA Communication Arts
De La Salle University, Philippines (2008)
Jose was a student of the Pettyjohn-Mendoza Pottery School in the Madrigal Art Center. After Typhoon Haiyan, he worked with IMPACT Foundation of the Philippines as a project officer for the 1000 Days pilot and Typhoon Haiyan disaster relief operations. He later worked as cigar professional and sales executive at Tabacalera Incorporada before moving to La Union. He has been making pottery for 30 years; full-time for the last 8.
